Gideon Smith and the Brass Dragon – the first reviews

Gideon_BrassDragon_1The first early reviews for Gideon Smith and the Brass Dragon have landed, both of them on Monday this week.

The first is from the estimable Publishers Weekly, who eagle-eyed readers will remember gave a starred review to Gideon Smith and the Mechanical Girl.

You can read the full review here but here’s a sample:

“…fast-paced and pulpy steampunk adventure…there’s plenty to enjoy in this gleeful mix of brass goggles, sword-wielding swashbucklers, Darwin, and dinosaurs”

imageOn the same day there was a review from the blog run by the lovely Jane and Bex at Waterstones Bradford – again, read it in its glory here. They say:

I finished it [book one] by looking forward hopefully to future books – well, here is the next one at last.  And it is as rollicking a ride as the first (thank goodness)!

Thanks to all for that fab start! Hope the rest of the notices are as positive.
