The Kitschies – a rum do

I’ve written a piece for the Guardian about the unveiling of the shortlist for the Kitschies Awards 2011.

This is a relatively new award and fast-becoming one of the most progressive and hip prizes on the circuit… gutted I didn’t get a nomination for popCULT!, if only to nab one of the bottles of Kraken Rum which all shortlisted entrants get.

However, this is a very strong shortlist and good luck to all the winners. And if anyone is teetotal, you know where to send your rum.

Meanwhile, BSFA awards shortlist is out next week! Only Haruki Murakami, Terry Pratchett and all to beat!
